Are cooperatives more “women-friendly” than traditional vertical business models? My recent publication in the Journal of Development Studies explores this question at one Rwandan mine. The video above also emphasizes the power of female miners in improving social and economic outcomes in their communities, undergirding the importance of centralizing women’s labor in mining policy.
